President's Day Hike

It has been couple weeks since I took Rain on a proper hike.  So today I took a few hours and went up into the hills with Rain.

Taking pictures of her is my way of practicing my portrait photography.  A typical shoot with her consists of me saying "Stay.  Rain, stay," and Rain not staying.

All these pictures were shot on my 35mm, wide open at f1.8

For these shots where Rain is running toward me, I had to throw a piece of snow and have her chase it, then quickly get on my elbows and knees before she could turn around, and fire off a shot before she ran back to me.  I did this numerous times.  Needless to say, elbows and knees were pretty cold.

This was pretty spotless before we got here.  I had to have Rain run back and forth a few times to get some of these shots.
